Cloudrift Getaway is a private, family- and dog-friendly retreat offering three exclusive units – the Boathouse Bungalow, Garden Cottage, and our Five-Star Luxury Villa. Perfectly positioned for fishing, sunbathing, and enjoying breathtaking African sunsets, we also offer jetty facilities for mooring private boats (available on enquiry).
To preserve the peace, privacy, and comfort of all guests, no parties or events are allowed unless pre-approved by management. Recreational drugs of any kind, including cannabis, hookah/hubbly bubbly, and similar substances, are strictly prohibited. For security and exclusivity, only registered, confirmed guests are permitted on the property—no outside visitors allowed.
To maintain a fresh, odour-free environment, smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to Cloudrift.
Respecting Tranquility
We enforce this policy to ensure that all our guests can enjoy the property in peace.
Any disturbance caused by unauthorised visitors can lead to disruption of others’ experience, which we seek to avoid. (House parties are strictly prohibited.)

Immediate Compliance
Guests who fail to observe this policy will be required to comply with its terms immediately.
All associated costs or losses that arise from such removal remain the responsibility of the guest(s).
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a peaceful and luxurious environment for everyone.
Gate Access
We use a call-to-open system for gate access, requiring guests to call to gain entry.

A Gate Access Form will be sent to you and must be completed at least 48 hours before check-in.

Gate access is limited to a maximum people per unit

Boathouse Bungalow (1 person with access), Luxury Villa (1 person with access), Garden Cottage (1 person with access)

The main gate does not have sensors, so please drive carefully when entering.

A maximum of three vehicles can enter at a time when the gate is opened.
General House Rules

Septic System: Please use toilet paper only. Do not put napkins, sanitary products, diapers, or wipes in the toilets. Bins are provided for disposing of these items.

Smoking: Strictly prohibited inside the units. Guests are welcome to smoke only in designated outdoor areas.

Parties & Events: No parties or events are allowed on the property.

Quiet Hours: Please respect quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.

Littering: No littering. Kindly dispose of all waste in the bins provided around the property.
Shared Facilities & Areas:

Jetty Pool: A shared facility. Please be considerate of other guests.

Courtyard: A shared space for relaxation.

Braai & Sitting Areas: The jetty braai and sitting areas are shared spaces.

Units: The property has three units, all located nearby.
Check-In & Check-Out Policy
Early check-in and late check-out are available upon request, subject to availability and an additional fee - click to learn more
Standard check-in: 14:00
Standard check-out: 11:00
Housekeeping Policy
Housekeeping is provided every three days for guests. If additional cleaning is required, it can be arranged for an extra fee. For group bookings across all three units, an additional housekeeping fee will apply.
Guest Arrangements in units
We strictly enforce guest limits for each unit to ensure the optimal use and sustainability of our facilities.
Luxury Villa
Maximum occupancy: 8 adults or 6 adults and up to 4 to 5 children (depending on age and size)
Configuration: 3 ensuite king-size bedrooms plus sleeper couch options in the lounge area
Bungalow Boathouse
Maximum occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults and up to 2 to 3 children (depending on age and size)
Configuration: 1 king-size bed plus one sleeper couch
Garden Cottage Unit
Maximum occupancy: 6 adults or 4 adults and up to 4 children
Configuration: 2 ensuite king-size bedrooms plus two sleeper couch options
No Visitors Allowed
To maintain the exclusive and serene atmosphere, no visitors are permitted on the property without advance approval by Management. This includes family, friends, and any other non-registered individuals
Requesting Additional Visitors
In limited, exceptional cases, you may request written permission for additional visitors. These requests must be approved by Cloudrift Management in writing in advance before visitors arrive.
Unauthorised visitors will not be granted access to the property

Fees:
A refundable deposit fee of R2500 may apply to our deposit policies.
Safety & Security:

Your Safety is Our Priority: The property is equipped with security features, including on-site presence, alert beams, and CCTV cameras. However, these measures are supplementary, and the alarm system is inactive overnight.

Responsibility: While we take precautions to ensure a safe environment, guests are responsible for their security and belongings during their stay. We recommend securing valuables and exercising standard safety precautions.

Liability: By booking, you acknowledge that the host is not liable for any incidents arising from negligence or unforeseen circumstances.
Food delivery services
Due to our location on a farm plot, certain delivery services such as Mr D and Checkers Sixty60 are unfortunately unavailable. However, Uber Eats is available for food deliveries in the area.
Any special arrangements must be requested with management prior to check-in.
Pool Safety
Guests acknowledge that the property features an open, unfenced swimming pool without a safety net. As such, all children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when near or in the pool area. The property owners and management assume no responsibility or liability for any accidents, injuries, or incidents that may occur due to lack of supervision or non-compliance with this policy.

By booking and staying at the property, guests accept full responsibility for ensuring the safety of all children in their party, adults take personal responsibility for their safety and agree to indemnify the property owners against any claims arising from pool-related incidents
Property Fencing
The property is fenced on three sides, with one side open to the river.
Host Availability:
Our hosts are available to assist you whenever needed.
Right to Enforce
If the management discovers unauthorised visitors on the property, we reserve the right to
- Ask the unauthorised visitors to leave immediately, and/or
-
Require the registered guest(s) to vacate the premises with no refund.
Acceptance of Terms
By confirming your reservation with Cloudrift Vaal River Getaway (236 Stocchi Avenue, Vaalview), you acknowledge and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions as set out in this document.
